On May 9th, AQUABATTERY was awarded the 'Battery Innovation Award' at the World Energy Storage 2023 Exhibition and Forum in Rotterdam.

The 'Battery Innovation Award' is awarded to a company from the battery industry that "has excelled in the previous 12 months" in achieving commercial or technical milestones. The award is a celebration of  "technical excellence and innovation in the development of batteries as we strive to harness clean power with pioneering battery products and solutions", according to the international jury of senior leaders across the storage value chain.

Emil Goosen, Chief Operating Officer and co-founder at AQUABATTERY, received the award at the ceremony and highlighted the need for building a resilient battery value chain by using abundant available and environmentally sustainable materials. In addition, Emil drew the audience's attention to the job and investment opportunities at our climate tech company.

AQUABATTERY was selected as winner out of five finalists: Cellfion AB (Sweden), LeydenJar (The Netherlands), Nyobolt (United Kingdom), Relectrify Pty. Ltd. (Australia).
